The Heart of Jesus' Teachings

We can learn a lot about someone by listening to what they talk most about.  We can better understand the Heart of Jesus by notice his reoccurring themes in his teachings.

Do the Godly Thing!

This lesson is based upon Jesus' parable of the two sons found in Matthew 21:28-32.  Jesus asked the crowd...which of the sons did what the Father requested?  The one that talked the talk or the one that walked the walk?

Impossible without Jesus!

The rich young Ruler thought his own goodness would get him what he sought.  Jesus teaches that on our own it is impossible.  Only with Jesus is salvation possible!

Jesus Loves Me!

The children's song says:  "Jesus Loves me this I Know for the Bible tells me so."  If we had to prove the evidence of this song...could we?  This lesson proves how Jesus Demonstrated his love for us!

John 20 tells us that there were many other miracles that Jesus did that were never recorded.  Approximately 150 were recorded in the 4 Gospels.  And John said these were recorded that we might believe in Jesus.  Besides being a nice story and evidence of Jesus' power, they can serve as a metaphor for the many ways Jesus helps us today.
